On August 12, 2015, an outreach activity was held in Brgy. Escopa III hosted by Bannister Academy. Gawad Kalinga a non-government organization that aims to help our unprivileged brothers and sisters and this school year, Bannister Academy partnered with the organization to support their efforts in building a better country.
On that Wednesday morning, the Bannister Academy students were excited and looked forward to a few hours of playing, eating, and meeting new people.
After all the games and prizes, Bannister students shared a meal with their partners from the Escopa community. This was one of the highlights of the activity. Some of the kids patting each other’s back while others smiled at each other. Everyone just ate and talked together, enjoying the company of new friends.
The guardians of the GK kids prepared a dance number for everyone. After eating, everyone proceeded to play random games. Some played tag, some played with their toys, while others played basketball.
Throughout the outreach activity we all enjoyed and laughed, making wonderful memories together and spending time with other people. It actually felt as if it was a birthday party, rather than a school activity! If given another opportunity, I think the Bannister family would be glad to do it again. Let’s hope there will be many more in the future.
