Arts & Crafts is not just the regular art club as it incorporates the ideals of entrepreneurship as well. The club aims to teach kids how to become innovative thinkers through the use of different resources with the different art skills. With each output, or in this case, each product, that the kids create, they also learn how to communicate what their product is all about. By the end of this year, the students will gain a better understanding about how the world works.

The Chefs Club, as it is aptly named, will teach the students how to properly cook different meals that they can do by themselves at home. Students will properly measure ingredients, make different broths, adjust seasoning, etc. to cook good tasting homemade meals. The goal of the club is to rival that of restaurants as they produce meals at a cheaper price by using their own ingredients with their own hardwork. Club members will explore different tastes and expand their palates to produce delicious food as they jump from one country’s cuisine to another.

Competitive online games might not be some people’s form of entertainment. With the Board Games Club, members will go back to physically moving their miniatures on the board as they roll their dice. The club will have a wide range of board games to choose from. The board games will continually change throughout the year to make things more interesting for its members as they try out different kinds of game genres from role-playing and deduction to deck-building and co-op.

This year, Bannister will be forming the school’s very first Chess Club and Varsity. As a mind sport, members will go through mental challenges in learning different openings, techniques, moves in order to beat their opponent continually honing their problem-solving skills the more they play the game. However, outside the game, this club and varsity aims that the members be able to use that some problem-solving ability in their real-life problems.
